Sabino Canyon Hike

Summer is over for the most part in Tucson.  We still get temps into the low 90's, but mornings dip down into the upper 60's, and the temperatures drop quickly as the sun sets.  Our bedroom window is open again for sleeping, and I open up the back yard sliding glass doors when I get up early in the m morning.   It's starting to be the best weather in the country again, and we are taking the opportunity to hit the trails.

We recently revisited Sabino National Recreation Area and hiked to Seven Falls.  Not much for fall colors but the ocotillo is doing its best to contribute a little bit.

Julia:  Hiking strong

First view:  Seven Falls

Getting closer

From here, Julia took a seat along the pool at the bottom, while I scrambled up the rocks to get closer to the main falls.

We've been here below where the flow is stronger, but even this level of flow is a welcome sight in a desert environment.  There are small fish in the pool below the falls.  Roundtail and Gila Chub.

Julia:  Cooling her heels
